A Summer Scene and more!

it's such a sunny summer day and all i want is to sit here crafting! there must be something wrong with me... i'm addicted to stamping, that's what it is!

first off we have a card for the new kwernerdesign colour challenge #56. 6 colours to use today! not so easy, but i searched thru some papers and found patterns that fit. flowers are on my mind because last night my husband & i took a walk thru our neighbourhood and looked at so many wonderful gardens! the colours are incredible everywhere! so here's my take on the challenge:

stuff used:
paper...
Basic Grey - Gypsy 6x6 paper pad
white & green cs
stamps...
Hero Arts - Italian Poetry background & Manuscript background
ink...
StazOn - blazing red
Brilliance - pearlescent orange
extras...
Slice - Animal Crackers & Basics 3 design cards
Cuttlebug - Swiss Dots embossing folder
EK Success - embossed curve border punch
white embroidery thread
PaperTrey - yellow satin ribbon
Basic Grey - obscure button
Prima - Calypso Tin flowers

next up is today's 365 Cards challenge card. the theme ("i'm in a bind!") is to bind 2 pieces of something to make a card. i took 2 pieces of blue cardstock at attached them at the seam with patterned reinforcements. i got these ages ago and still hadn't found a use for them in my cardmaking. hip hip hooray, today's the day! (grin)

stuff used:
paper...
white & cyan cs
stamps...
Inkadinkadoo - Wellspring
Savvy Stamps - birthday wishes
ink...
Brilliance - pearlescent ice blue & mediterranean blue
Tim Holtz distress - antique linen
extras...
Staples coloured reinforcements
Memories in the Making - Ocean craft fibres
Slice - noteworthy design card
Inksenntials - ink blending tool
Prima - Calypso Tin flowers

cheers!

Day 128 - Card Recipe

you guessed it... another 365 Cards challenge. using a prescribed recipe is often hard - sticking to just a few ingredients can be so limiting! but tonight i just grabbed some great patterned paper and voila, i had it done! it's weird that i've made this card already tonight because the new 365 posts happen at midnight eastern time, which is only 9pm for me! i set this to upload at midnight my time, so i won't be able to add my URL to their site until the morning... oh well! not as high up on the list as i'd like, but what are you gonna do? take it easy all!

ps. hey, i just discovered a great place to win some blog candy... check out Addicted to Paper's blog and enter to win by leaving a comment by july 15th. easy peasy! and i'm telling you, there's a huge pile of stuff to win! i almost don't want to share the news - it lessens my chances! hehehe!

you can also enter to win a set of copic markers here, at the "Stampin' Up! My Way" blog. that would be fab, cuz i don't own a single copic!

stuff used:
paper...
Autumn Leaves - Le Fleur by Rhonna Farrer
white cs
stamps...
Scrappy Cat - birthday wishes
ink...
Brilliance - pearlescent lime
extras...
Esprit craft ribbon - light green
Royal Langnickel - glitter butterfly rub-on
Basic Grey - Obscure buttons

cheers!

Hero Arts helpful hints

Hero Arts has long been a favorite of mine, both for their products and the ideas they share on the website and on the blog. their blog is great - there are postings each day except for sunday and it's fun to follow along with the weekly challenges. i'm a little behind this week and haven't done a card for them yet, but i'll get to it soon. they have a flickr group that i belong to for sharing card images. check mine out here!

i just finished watching a video on today's Hero Arts Club blog, and it's about tying ribbon and sewing on buttons. i found it really cute and helpful so i'm sharing it with you all.
